Valentines Day - Bring a Buddy - 2 for $30 Special!
We LOVE when people share the experience of acupuncture as it really emphasizes the community component of what we do. We thought Valentine’s Day would be a great day to spread some of this community love so we decided to revive our bring a buddy special for one day only, Friday, February 14th. In the past this special has caused some shenanigans, so please check out our Bring a Buddy Special FAQ for more information about how this special works. Here are a few requirements though:
Both buddies must have consecutive appointments scheduled to receive the special
Consecutive appointments must be booked within 10 minutes of each other
See FAQ for more information on how to use this special for New Patients (hint: they will need to pay more than $15, but can still get a deal)

An Old Message from OAP’s Founders
In light of the Laurel clinics 17th Birthday this month we thought we would send out a 2010 radio interview from OAP’s founders: Whitney, who currently works at our Sacramento Location, and Roselle, who left OAP to open Eldorado Community Acupuncture in 2014. This was just 2 years after they opened the doors of Oakland Acupuncture Project’s first location in the Laurel / Diamond district. It has been 15 years since this interview, but our mission still holds true. We want to offer affordable and accessible healthcare and build a sense of community in our clinic. Check out the KPFA Interview Here. *Image below is from the 2011 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Ceremony.
How Much Acupuncture Should I Get?
If you are concerned about how often you should come in for acupuncture to address your issues, feel free to check in with us; we’re always happy to give recommendations for treatment frequency. In the meantime, we have a couple helpful blogs on the subject. Check out this Infographic and this blog on Acupuncture Frequency. And remember, there’s no such thing as too much acupuncture, so if you want to come in even more than suggested to take a relaxing acu-nap, go for it!
Point of the Month
Kidney 3, also known as Tai Xi, or Supreme Stream is the source point of the Kidney Channel and nourishes both the Yin and Yang of the body. This makes this point an essence power house and is one of the many reasons that Dawn loves using this point in the winter months. For more information on why this point is a favorite of Dawn’s, check out Her Recent Blog Post.
