Oakland Acupuncture Project: Happy March!
Point of the Month!
San Jiao 2 - The Chinese name for San Jiao 2 is Yemen, which translates to Fluid Gate. This is a great detox point, and as the name implies it can also help regulate and move fluid throughout the body. When fluid isn’t properly regulated it can show up in many ways such as: inability to regulate body heat, imbalances in hormonal secretions, accumulations and swelling, heat and dryness, inability to go with the flow, feeling awash in thoughts, and hot tempered outbursts to name a few. For more information about this point and to find why Jeff likes to use this point “clear out the gutters”, Check Out Jeff’s Blog.
Teaching the youth about Acupuncture
Jeff presented at the career day for Bridges Academy at Melrose and got to spread the awesomeness of acupuncture to a room full of first graders! See a few pics below:

Global Day of Unplugging March 7th-8th
Most of us love our cell phones and electronic devices — maybe a little too much? Excessive daily screen time has been associated with high stress, low mood, neck pain, and eye strain. Join us for a day of digital detox from sundown on Friday, March 1st to sundown on Saturday March 2nd, and visit our cozy phone-free clinics for a restorative acupuncture treatment. For more information, check out the Global Day of Unplugging Website.
OAP House Rules
Occasionally we like to remind everyone about our house rules (you can also find these rules posted throughout the clinics). These rules were created to establish a safe and efficient community space for all of our patients and practitioners. We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable both physically and emotionally when they enter the clinic so please take a second to review the rules below so you can help contribute to our healing vibe.
Besides the above mentioned items it is also best to arrive on time, keep rustling to a minimum, be respectful to other patients and practitioners, and remember that the acupuncturist is there to treat and hold space for everyone in the clinic.
If you are a rules junkie and want to find out more, you can also visit the Clinic Policies Page and the What We Don’t Do Page on our website.
