Oakland Acupuncture Project: Vagaro Swap Tips & Updates
Vagaro Swap Tips & Updates
Thank you all for being patient with us as we figure out the new scheduling system. For the most part things have been going ok, but we apologize for any bumps you may have encountered. Hopefully we will all be used to the new system soon. Below are a few tips:
Just another reminder that there are different scheduling links for Grand and Laurel:
Substack Newsletter Email List
After our switch to Vagaro we have run into a bit of a glitch uploading new clients to the substack email list. Some people may have been added to our list twice, or re-submitted to the list after unsubscribing in the past. If you start getting this email and don’t want it, please unsubscribe yourself, or ask us to help you. Hopefully this is a one time issue.
Vagaro Profiles
As you are starting to use Vagaro it would be great if you could take a second to make sure that your profile is up to date by checking the following:
Your first and last names are entered correctly
Current email
Current phone number
This way we know who is coming to see us and we can contact you if need be.
Appointment Notes
It seems that many of you have been taking advantage of the notes feature when booking. Sometimes this is helpful if you are booking for a buddy, haven't been in for a long time, or have something new going on, but otherwise you can just skip past this as we can rely on our chart notes. Also, though we do usually look at these appointment notes, we will still ask you what’s up when you come in….it’s just how we roll.
Substitute Acupuncturists
We will no longer have a "Rotating Staff" provider on our schedule to indicate that a substitute acupuncturist will be working a particular shift. This means that if our regular acupuncturist is out for the day and someone else picks up their shift, it will still look like you are booking with the regularly scheduled acupuncturist. We do our best to make sure our regulars who don't like to be surprised by a change in provider are told ahead of time, but we won't always be able to guarantee this. If this happens and it is upsetting to you, we apologize, though the surprise can be a great opportunity to meet a new provider, or come across our wonderful sub Tiana.
Accidental Double Bookings
We have noticed a number of people have been accidentally double booking back to back appointments. This seems to happen when you pick more than one service before searching for an appointment time. Please only select one service at a time when booking (don’t click the little green button that says “+service”), and double check that you only have one appointment time selected before clicking the final “BOOK” button.

Please Stay Home if you are Sick!
Please help us keep our community healthy and prevent the spread of illness. Patients with symptoms of acute illness or viruses are not permitted to enter the clinic. Please rest at home if you “are fighting something off”, “feel like you are coming down with something”, “just have a little cold”, or have any signs of illness that are not from a known non-communicable issue.
This includes, but is not limited to: cough, fever, chills, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste or smell, new body aches, or rashes or sores of unexplained origin.
We do not charge late cancellation fees for appointments canceled due to illness, so rest up at home and come back in when you are on the mend!
Point of the Month
Our point this month is Lung 3 or Tian Fu, which could translate as Heavenly Residence, Celestial Storehouse or Palace of Heaven. It is a window of the sky point, and has the strange function of anchoring the aspect of the soul referred to as the Po, or Corporeal Soul. Jeff really likes to use this point to treat grief and “Melancholy Crying Ghost Talk”. If this all sounds interesting and you want to hear more check out Our Blog.
